Bobby Porter Davis, five years old, of 25 Commercial place, drowned at 5:30 
p.m. May 29 in the Elizabeth River. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. June 
3 at Hale's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Z. P. Jenkins, pastor of Union 
Congregational Christian Church, officiating. Robert Davis is the son of Mrs. 
Ida Mae James Porter and the late James Arthur Porter. He was buried in Betty 
Jones Cemetery at Princess Anne County.
