Mrs. Dudley, 80, Dies; Leaves 81 Descendants
Mrs. Mary Jane Dudley, 80, widow of Stephen Dudley and a lifelong resident of 
Princess Anne County, died yesterday at 7 a.m. at her residence at Back Bay. 
She leaves 81 descendants.
Mrs. Dudley was a daughter of George L. and Mrs. Eleanor Chappel Smith.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W.H. Mosley, of Princess Anne County, and 
Mrs. Russell D. Ackiss, of Broad Creek Village; two sons, Wilbur L., Murphy 
and Jesse L. Dudley; one sister, Mrs. Lena V. Pallett, and one brother, 
William H. Smith, all of Princess Anne County; 19 grandchildren, 58 great-
grandchildren and four great-great-granchildren.
The body will be taken from The Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Charity 
Methodist Church, of which she was a member, for funeral services tomorrow at 
2 p.m. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Burial will be 
in the church cemetery.
