Final rites were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at Hale's Funeral Home for 
Cooke Edwards who died Saturday night Jan. 15 at the Smith Street Community 
Center, where he was employed. The Rev. F. P. Wise, pastor of Mt. Lebanon 
Baptist Church, officiated.

Mr. Edwards, son of the late Kenneth and Mrs. Jennie Edwards, was born in 
Nansemond county and had lived in Norfolk for about 12 years.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dellsora Edwards; one daughter, Mildred Edwards; 
two brothers, Collins, and Noah Edwards, and four sisters. Interment was in 
Betty Jones' Cemetery.
