Emmerritt Thomas Forbes, 40, of 920 Memphis street, died April 23 in a New 
York hospital. Mr. Forbes, who resided in Norfolk at 920 Memphis street, was 
buried May 2 in Betty Jones Cemetery, Princess Anne County, following a 
funeral service at Hale Funeral Home, with Rev. Mr. McInnis officiating.

A native of Princess Anne County, he was a World War II veteran, and was 
employed at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

He is survived by his father, Nathan Forbes; one daughter, Miss Evelyn 
Forbes; one son, Emmerritt Forbes Jr.; and one sister, Miss Ruth Forbes.

Hale Funeral Home handled funeral arrangements.
