VIRGINIA BEACH - Hazel Patterson Powers Goode, 92, passed away February 1, 
2004, in Burlington, NC.  A native of Ironton, OH, she was the daughter of the 
later Robert Wesley and Annie Belle Burks Patterson and the widow of two 
husbands, Clarence Hope Powers, Sr. and Gerald Leo Goode.  She was a member of 
Willowwood Presbyterian Church.  She is survived by her daughter ida Whitney 
and her husband Norman of Graham, NC; a son, Clarence Hope Powers, Jr. and his 
wife Debra L. Cassella of Blowing Rock, NC; a stepdaughter, Barbara G. White 
of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Fred D. Johnston nd wife Carol, Kimberly 
J. Troia and husband Brett, Morgan Whitney and wife Sheri, Carrie Whitney 
Cummings and husband, Kelly, Ann Whitney Kelley and husband Chris and Amelia 
Hope Powers; and three great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her 
daughter, Gay Powers Johnston; and her sister Isabelle P. Parker.  A funeral 
will be conducted in the Mausoleum Chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Gardens 
Wednesday at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Frank E. Drake officiating.  Hollomon-Brown 
Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements.
