Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 7, 2000
Barbara J. Gordon, of the 1800 block of St. Denis Ave. and a native of Norfolk
County, died Jan. 4, 2000.

She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Karl Smith of
Norfolk, Norman Jean and James Brown, Deborah S. and Michael Melvin, all of
Virginia Beach; four sons, Richard Gordon and wife, Regine, James Brown, Kenneth
Gordon and wife, Rochelle, all of Norfolk, and Robert Smith of Chesapeake; five
sisters, Shirley Wiggins of Norfolk, Jessie Gray and Beverly Jackson, all of
Chesapeake, Sarah Barrington and husband, Ruddy, of Orlando, Fla., Vera Smith of
New York and Alice Smith of Norfolk; two brothers, Robert White and wife, Iris,
of Orlando, Fla., and William White of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Elijah Miner and wife, Julia, of
Maryland; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Corner Stone Christian Center,
Norfolk, by the Rev. Michael Blanchard. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Park.
Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge.
