Norfolk - Mrs. Josephine Humphrey of 1853 Sandalwood Court, the wife of Isaac
Humphrey, died Monday, September 2, in a hospital.

A native of Wayne County, NC, she was a member of Miller Chapel Baptist Church
there.  She was a daughter of Amos Wooden and Mrs. Madie Randolph.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mary Beckwith and Miss Janice Humphrey
of Norfolk, and Miss Ann Humphrey of Kinston, NC;  three sons, Floyd Humphrey
and Alton Humphrey of Norfolk, and James E. Humphrey of Baltimore;  three
sisters, Mrs. Jean Randolph and Mrs. Ethel M. Bolden of Goldsboro, NC, and Mrs.
Cris Randolph of New Jersey;  three brothers, Claude Randolph and John H.
Randolph of Goldsboro, and Roosevelt Randolph of La Grange NC;  and 17
grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Fitchett Funeral Home by the
Rev. H. C. Felton.  burial was in Jones Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
