Norfolk - Mrs. Ruth S. Johnson of 600 Marshall avenue died in a local hospital.

A native of Norfolk, she was a daughter of Noah Smith and the late Mrs. Cecelia 
Nixon Smith and the wife of Willie Johnson. She was a member of St. Mary’s 
Holiness Church and its Usher Board.

Besides her husband and father, she is survived by a son, Tommy Johnson, a 
daughter, Miss Patricia Ann Johnson; a brother, Willie Smith; two sisters, Mrs. 
Tennie Longshore and Miss Mary Ella Smith, all of Norfolk. A funeral was held in 
St. Mary’s Holiness Church by Rev. Mary Johnson.

Burial was in Jones Memorial Park with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
