Norfolk Journal and Guide, Aug 27,1960
A funeral service was held at St. John AME Church in Davis Corner on Sunday 
for Mrs. Elsie Bell Land, 48, of 6418 Newtown road. She died in Richmond 
after a long illness.

Burial was in Betty Jones Cemetery under direction of the Morning Glory 
Funeral Home.

Mrs. Land was a native of Bayside. Her survivors are her parents, Mr. and 
Mrs. William Bell; two daughters, Mrs. Roxie Cornick and Mrs. Vernette 
Jones; four sisters, Mrs. Fannie Forrest, Mrs. Beatrice Bazemore, Mrs. Emily 
Cooke and Mrs. Mable Williams; and two brothers, William H. and Daniel Bell, 
all of Bayside.
