Norfolk - Mrs. Emma M. Osborne of the 1400 block of West 39th street, died Aug.
4 in Norfolk Community Hospital.

She was a native of Surry County, and was the daughter of Mrs. Estelle Lane and
the late Eddie Spratley and the wife of the late Herbert D. Osborne.

She was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and sang in the choir.

Besides her mother, survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Edith Staten of
Hampton;  and Mrs. Barbara Fennell, Miss Jestine Osborne, Mrs. Emma Jones, and
Miss Arlene Osborne of Norfolk;  one son, Michael Osborne;  five sisters, Miss
Luceta Spratley of Washington, NC and Mrs. Margaret Edler, Mrs. Victoria
Harrison,  Mrs. Dena Batten and Miss Estelle Spratley of Surry county;  one
brother, Nicholas Spratley of Surry county;  and seven grandchildren.

Services were conducted in the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church with the Rev. F. P.
Wise, the minister, in charge.  Burial was in the Jones Cemetery.  Jones Funeral
Home was in charge of arrangements.
