Died Thursday, January 1, 1953. A Pontifical Requiem Mass was held here Tuesday, January 6, 1953. Miss Ireton was the only surviving sister of the Most Reverend PETER L. IRETON, Roman Catholic Bishop of Richmond. She was a native of Baltimore, but had made her home here for the past 17 years. Besides her brother, she is survived by 3 nephews and 16 grand nephews and nieces. Burial was to be in New Cathedral Cemetery, Baltimore, Tuesday afternoon, January 6, 1953. CHARLES LOUIS IVEY Thursday, January 1, 1953 / Friday, January 2, 1953 Age 44, an investment broker with offices in the Bankers Trust Building, died in his sleep Wednesday, December 31, 1952 morning after a long illness at the residence, 442 Harvard Street, Apartment 2. A native of Rocky Mount, NC and a resident of Norfolk for 19 years, he was a member of the Royster Memorial Presbyterian Church. He was the son of CHARLES W. IVEY and Mrs. SALLY BRIDGERS IVEY of Rocky Mount and husband of Mrs. ALMA BROTHERS IVEY. Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by 2 daughters, Miss MARGARET BRIDGERS IVEY and Miss SUSAN WINFIELD IVEY, both of Norfolk; 4 sisters, Mrs. HERMAN WELLONS of Kinston, NC, Mrs. FRANK THIGPEN and Mrs. MARY LOUISE HAMMOND, both of Rocky Mount and Mrs. W.L. FOY of Ahoskie, NC; 3 brothers, M.W. IVEY and WILLIAM A. IVEY, both of Rocky Mount and ALFRED G. IVEY of Winston-Salem, NC. The body will be taken from the Derry-Twiford Funeral Home today to Rocky Mount. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 2, 1953 at 2:00 pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, Rocky Mount. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount, NC. JAMES HOUSTON IVEY, Doctor Monday, February 16, 1953 Richmond, Virginia, February 15 - Pastor of Richmond's Second Baptist Church, died of a heart attack Sunday, February 15, 1953 shortly before he was to preach his morning sermon. He was 50 and a native of Talladega, Alabama and had been pastor of the Second Baptist Church here since July, 1945. Before coming to Richmond, he was pastor of the First Baptist Church of St Joseph, Missouri. He also held pastorates at churches in Wetumpka, Alabama, West Point, Georgia and Troy, Alabama. He was a graduate of Wake Forest College, the University of Alabama and the Southern Baptist Seminary at Louisville, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. IDA CROSS IVEY; a son, JAMES H. IVEY III and a daughter, Miss MARY JEAN IVEY, a secretary with the United States Air Force in Wiesbaden, Germany. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, February 17, 1953 from the church with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
