(This obit I have typed exactly as it was printed.  It stated she died Thursday, which would have
made it November 27th, and the funeral services were on Wednesday.  How can that be if she
died Thursday and this is Monday's paper, unless it was a typo and she actually died Tuesday,
November 26)
Widow of MOSES A. YAFFEY, who died Thursday, November 27, 1952.  Funeral services were
conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts Wednesday noon, by the Rev PAUL REICH, Rabbi of
the Beth El Temple.  Burial was in B'nai Israel Cemetery.  Pallbearers: A. SILVERMAN, I.
MENDELSON, LEWIS ZENO, SID HOROWITZ, GILBERT TOLSTOL and RAYMOND
COGAN.

ANNIE YATES, Mrs.

Monday, December 15, 1952 / Wednesday, December 17, 1952
Age 90, of 210 Old Gilmerton Road, died in a Portsmouth hospital Sunday, December 14, 1952
at 11:05 am.  She was a native of Pendleton County, Kentucky and had resided in Portsmouth for
the past 11 years.  She is survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. E.S. KLEIN of Geneva Park; 1 son,
HENRY BARRETT YATES of East Point, Georgia; 1 sister, Mrs. MAMIE TRIBBLE of
Kentucky; a grandson, HERMAN YATES of Detroit, Michigan and 2 great grandchildren.  The
body was taken to Snellings Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 16,
1952 at 11:00 am at West End Methodist Church by Rev W.S. TONGUE, pastor of the church,
officiating.  Following the services, the body will be sent to Bedford, Ohio for burial.  Pallbearers: 
R. PREEDY, W.N. BLOW, H. EDWARDS, S.E. HATHAWAY and EARL JOHNSON.

RAYMOND GIRAUD YOUNG (P)

Monday, February 23, 1953 / Tuesday, February 24, 1953 / Wednesday, February 25, 1953
Age 64, in the 65th year of her age, husband of Mrs. NAOMI PHILLIPS YOUNG and son of
the late JOHN RICHARDS YOUNG and Mrs. SALLIE UPSHUR YOUNG, a lifelong resident
of Norfolk, died at his residence, 1030 Harrington Avenue, Sunday, February 22, 1953 at 6:30
pm after a long illness.  He was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, graduated from the
Norfolk Academy after which he entered the fertilizer business with his late father.  For the past
20 years, he had been engaged in the real estate department of the J.R. Young Fertilizer
Company, of which he was president.  Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Mrs.
SALLY YOUNG LEAMAN of Evanston, Illinois and Mrs. MARGARET YOUNG ROPER of
Norfolk; 1 grandson, BRUCE YOUNG LEAMAN of Evanston, Illinois and 1 sister, Mrs.
ELMORE B. GRAY of Washington, DC.  Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral
Apts Tuesday, February 24,1953 at 12:00 pm by the Rev EDGAR A. POTTS, D.D., pastor of
Epworth Methodist Church.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  Pallbearers: ROBERT T.
HASLER, B. LYNN THOMPSON, GARRETT WATTERS, WINSTON LAWLER, W.
WALLACE KEENAN JR, ROY ELLIOTT, D.S. HARGIE and C.W. HENLEY.

Died Thursday, October 13, 1955.  Funeral services were conducted at the Zion Methodist
Church Sunday, October 16, 1955 at 2:00 pm by the Rev EARLE I. LEWIS, pastor.  Pallbearers:
FELIX STEVENS, ROBERT L. GREGGS, CLARENCE JOHNSON, CAROL JONES,
BERNARD GORDON and R.E. HUDGINS.  Members of Lamberts Point Lodge 99, I.O.O.F.,
attended in a body and accorded rites at the grave.  Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

WESLEY D. YOUNG

Norfolk - 17 day old son of JOHN W. YOUNG and Mrs. NOVELLA M. YOUNG of 551
Ruffner St, died Friday, September 30, 1966 in a hospital.  He is also survived by 2 brothers,
ALAN A. YOUNG and MICHAEL B. YOUNG and his maternal grandparents, WILFORD
MCCOY and Mrs. CORINE MCCOY, all of Norfolk.  The body is at Hale Funeral Home.  A
funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 5, 1966 at 1:00 pm in Calvary Cemetery.  Hale
Funeral Home has charge.
