George Patton(per death certificate, name is Payton) of Great Neck Village in 
London Bridge was given final rites Saturday at First Baptist Church in 
Lynnhaven, where he was a deacon and held membership 50 years.

The Rev. M. R. Boone officiated at the rites and burial was in Betty Jones 
Cemetery.

A solo was sung at the funeral by Miss Shirley Wright.  Jacob Whitehurst, a 
deacon, also spoke on the obituary and condolences were read by Miss Lucille 
Mosely.

Mr. Patton’s survivors include a niece, Mrs. Cora Harper of Norfolk;  and two 
cousins in this area, Mrs. Liddie Goffgen of Great Neck and Mrs. Annie Baynes of 
Atlantic Park.
