Norfolk Journal and Guide, Dec 29,1962
The Rev. William Ricks, 71, of 397 Ward avenue, a retired janitor and member of 
Apostolic Faith Holiness Church, was given final rites at the church Sunday.  He 
died in a Norfolk hospital.

The service was conducted by the Rev. C. H. Perry.  Interment was in Betty Jones 
Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.

The lay minister was a native of Chowan County NC.  His survivors include his 
wife, Mrs. Elnora Ricks;  a daughter, Miss Vandora Ricks of Petersburg;  and 
three sons, John L., Leedell and Sidney Ricks of Norfolk.
