Norfolk - James Seaborn, 57, who died June 22 of pneumonia as a result of an
auto accident, was given final rites Tuesday in Hale Funeral Chapel by the Rev.
J. L. Kearney. Burial was in Jones Memorial Park.

A native of Norfolk, Mr. Seaborn was struck March 29 by a Virginia Transit
Company bus on Virginia Beach boulevard about 50 feet west of Church street,
according to Patrolman W. D. Creekmore. The bus was operated by Kenneth R.
Terry, 26, of the 1500 block of Florida avenue.

Mr. Seaborn did not regain consciousness after the accident. Dr. H. H.
Karnitschnig, Tidewater state medical examiner, said that an autopsy showed head
injuries suffered by Mr. Seaborn in the accident were directly responsible for
his contracting pneumonia.

He was the son of the late Charles Seaborn and Mrs. Henrietta Seaborn and
husband of Mrs. Mozella Seaborn. He worked 14 years for American Sheet Metal
Company.

Other than his widow, surviving are two cousins.
