Norfolk Journal and Guide, Jan 9,1965
Norfolk - Otis Smith of 709 E. 29th street, husband of Mrs. Mary Smith, received 
final rites Jan. 3 in Zion Light Church of God in Christ with the Rev. J. T. 
Jones officiating.  Burial was in Betty Jones Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in 
charge.

A native of Edenton, NC, Mr. Smith was a son of the late William C. Smith and 
Mrs. Georgianna Smith.  He died Dec. 27 in a hospital after a short illness.  He 
was a member of Oakwood Chapel Church and was a self-employed painter.

Besides his widow, surviving are a stepson, Ernest Jones, and two brothers, 
Woodge Smith and George C. Smith all of Norfolk and four sisters, Mrs. Golene 
Burke, Mrs. Alberta Boyce, Mrs. Dora Dunnington, all of Norfolk, and Mrs. 
Rosetta Nelson of Texas.
