Norfolk - Mrs. Leola Thurston, of 864 C avenue, died in a hospital recently.

A native of Goldsboro, NC, she was a daughter of the late John and Mrs. Maggie 
Ashford and the widow of Vann Thurston. She was a member of New Calvary Baptist 
Church.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Bessie Jarrett of Goldsboro.

A funeral was held in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Milton Reid. Burial 
was in Jones Memorial Park with Citizens Funeral Home in charge.
