Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - January 27, 2008 
VIRGINIA BEACH - Horace Wilson Sr., 92, of the 900 block of Edwin Drive, died
Jan. 23, 2008. A native of Princess Anne County, he was the widower of Mamie
Wilson. Mr. Wilson was self employed and retired. He was a member of St. Mark
AME Church in Virginia Beach, its Trustee Board, Men's Fellowship Club, Gospel
Choir and Male Chorus. He was a volunteer fireman (Seatack).

Survivors include six daughters, Alice Grimstead, Joyce Bradford (Wallace),
Jennie Wiggins (Charles), all of Virginia Beach, Barbara Williams (Andre') of
Fort Washington, Md., Florence Tilley (James) of Norfolk and Arlene Baker
(Samuel) of Chesapeake; five sons, William Wilson, John Wilson (Corrine), Curtis
Wilson (Delores), Larry Wilson and Bernard Wilson (Barnitha), all of Virginia
Beach; 62 grandchildren; 104 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren;
and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including a special
friend, Eloise Woodhouse. He was predeceased by his children, Horace Jr.,
Sylvester, James and Regina; mother, Elizabeth S. Wilson; father, John C. Wilson
Sr.; seven sisters and 12 brothers.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Mark AME Church, Virginia Beach,
by the Rev. Vernon Ricks. Burial will be in Jones Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
Viewing will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today in Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach
chapel.
