F. Shaffer and Ellen Hall, of Baltimore, State of Maryland, U.S. of North America. On Sun. Oct. 2nd 1859, in Baltimore, Charles William Luster, of Baltimore, Md., and Henrietta Jane Strohm Eckardt. On Wed., Dec. 26, 1862, in Front Royal, Thomas William Santmyres, of Warren County, Va., and Emily Louise Henrietta Eckardt. On Thurs. Apr. 23, 1863, in Baltimore, John Burns, of Baltimore, Md., and Louise Paulina Henrietta Eckardt. On Sun. July 1st, 1866, in Baltimore, Gustavus Adolph Beyer, of Sooden(?) in Kerr Hess, Germany, and Mary Fanny Henrietta Eckardt. On Nov. 23, 1868, in Front Royal, George Henry Marshall Eckardt and Angeline Kinsey, of Rappahannock County, Va. On Thurs. Dec. 28, in Winchester, Va., James Henry Gephard Eckardt and Margaret Elizabeth Shiner, of Winchester. On Tues. Fe. 20th, 1877, in Front Royal, Henry Charles John Eckardt and Emma Hoshour, of Front Royal, Va. DEATHS Charles Polk Henry Eckardt was killed on Friday afternoon, Mar. 31, 1863, in a skirmish between the Weldon and South Side Railroad, Va. He volunteered in May 1861 and joined the “Warren Rifles”, Co., B. 17th Va. Reg’t. Volunt., Corse’s Brigade, Pickett’s Division, Longstreet’s Corps, Confederate Army of Northern Va., he was present in all the battles and always did his duty cheerfully, as a brave soldier. Dr. Charles Eckardt died on Tues. night, Apr. 1st 1879, after a lingering illness....in the 80th year of his age. A kind husband, a good father and a faithful friend. Peace to his ashes. Mary Eckardt Beyers died Mar. 31, 1879, in her 33rd year. Father and daughter were buried the same day, in Prospect Hill Cemetery, in Front Royal, Va.
