(Woodstock, Va.) April 1, 1869 We regret to learn that Mr. James Foster, living in that portion of Warren county known as Hominy Hollow, was, as is supposed, mortally wounded, on Saturday last. It appears that a negro man living in that community, had several colored women living in his house whose outrageous conduct so exasperated the citizens that they determined to rid themselves of their unpleasant neighbors, and in accordance with such determination, a number of the citizens proceeded to the residence of the negro and notified him to leave, &c., which he did until some time during the following night, when the negro becoming alarmed at the determination of the party, fired upon them from the window, which resulted in wounding Mr. Foster, which has, in all probability, proved fatal before this time.
