Thomas Nelson's Company of the 1st Virginia Regiment and that he died in the service as offered by a certificate from the said Capt. Thomas Nelson and that the said James Gamble left two infants of tender years, who together with the said Margaret, same as aforesaid are totally unprovided for and incapable of maintaining themselves and stand greatly in need of the assistance of this County. I do, with the advice of this Council, hereby certify that Margaret Gamble, widow of James Gamble who was a private in the !st Virginia Regiment and who died in the service of the United Staes is allowed the sum of twelve pounds yearly, commencing on the first day of January 1786.
