Fleenor and Deidia his wife of Washington County State of Virginia of the one part and Henry Roberts of the county and state aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth, that in consideration of the sum of $1157.50 to the said Fleenor and wife by the said Roberts in hand said the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the said Thomas W. Fleenor and Deidia his wife, do grant unto the said Henry Roberts a certain tract or parcel of land lying in the said county on the South side of the North Fork of the Holston river, being part of a tract of land formerly owned by Michael Fleenor now deceased and which is bounded as follows: BEGINNING at a large rock near Newland's old ford? on the bank of the river and running with the Southern bank thereof instead of the centre of the stream, the several courses and meanders thereof N10 poles N5 W22 poles N12 W8 poles N4 W13 poles N21 E29 poles N49 3/4 E11 poles N39 E8 poles N62.5 E12 poles N72E14 poles N60 E18 poles S86 E10 poles S54 E5 poles S62.75 E17 poles to a beech in the bank of the river, thence S53.5 W150 poles to a Lynn, thence N21 W2 poles to the Southern bank of the river, thence up the river N23.5 E10 poles to the BEGINNING, containing Forty-six acres and Three tenths of an acre. To have and To hold the said land so bounded and described to him the said Henry Roberts and his heirs forever. And the said Thomas W. Fleenor and Deidia his wife do covenant to and with the said henry Roberts, that they will warrant generally the property hereby conveyed. Witness the following signatures and seals. Thomas W. Fleenor Deidia (her mark) Fleenor County of Washington to wit: I John W. Worley a justice of the peace for the county aforesaid in the State of Virginia, do certify that Thomas W. Fleenor whose name is signed to the writing above bearing date in the 30th day of December has acknowledged the same before me in my county aforesaid. Worley and Humberson Lyon justices of the peace for the county of Washington in the State of Virginia, do certify that Deidia Fleenor, the wife of Thomas W. Fleenor, whose names are signed to the writing above bearing date on the 30th day of December personally appeared before us in the county aforesaid and being examined by us, separate and apart from her husband and having the writing aforesaid fully explained to her, she the said Deidia Fleenor acknowledged the said writing to be her act, and declared that she had willingly executed the same, and does not wish to retract it.
