Preliminary police reports revealed that Gid Billips of Rt. 3, Falls Mills, apparently died of natural causes. The body was found in the front seat of an auto parked near Stoney Ridge in the Mud Fork area. The preliminary investigation revealed that Billips had been dead for several days. BILLIPS RITES SLATED TODAY Funeral services for Lee Gid Billips, a 63-year-old resident of Rt. 1, Bluefield Va.; who was found dead in his auto Thursday night, will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Graham Funeral Home in Bluefield, Va., with Rev. Arnold Miller officiating. Burial will following in the Billips family cemetery in the Mud fork section of Tazewell County. Billips’ body was discovered late Thursday in his car parked on a side road in the Mud Fork section. A police investigations revealed the man died of natural causes. Born in Washington County, Va., he was a son of the late Ed and Sarah Hypes Billips and was a retired coal miner. Surviving are two daughters; one brother, Carl Billips of Mud Fork; and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Helmandollar of Mud Fork. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
