Barnes ABINGDON -- The funeral service for Mr. Jerry Allen Barnes will be conducted Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at 2 p.m. in Farris Cremation and Funeral Center, located on the grounds of Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA (276-623-2727) with Eddy Craft, minister, and Pastor Bill Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with military honors to be rendered by the Highlands Fellowship Veterans Honor Color Guard. Pallbearers will be Gary McGhee, Ernie Sullins, Tracy Clark, John Hayter, Johnny Leonard and Russell Grubbs. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30-2 p.m. at Farris Cremation and Funeral Center, 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon. Mr. Barnes, 66, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Mountain Home, Tenn., after a lengthy illness from cancer. Farris Funeral Service, Abingdon, is serving the Barnes family.
