Bryan DAMASCUS -- Charles N. "Noonie" Bryan, 64, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2002, in York, Neb. He was a native of Washington County, Va., and had lived in Omaha, Neb., where he was stationed in the U.S. Air Force. He moved back to Washington County, Va.,. in 1972. He was a truck driver for 35 years and was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Preston H. Bryan. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Charles N. (Jean) Bryan; one son, Steven Charles Bryan and his wife, Brenda, of Bristol Virginia; one grandson, Alexander Steven Bryan of Bristol Virginia; his mother, Opal DeBusk Bryan of Kingsport; two sisters, Doris E. Hammock and her husband, Earl, of Knoxville and Joy Lewis and her husband, Shirl , of Kingsport; one brother, Lewis H. Bryan and his wife, Ann, of Ocala, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, in the Garrett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jane Ayers officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to Johnston Memorial Diabetic Education, 351 Court St., NE, Abingdon, VA 24210. The committal service and inurnment will be at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, at Knollkreg Memorial Park in Abingdon with military graveside rites conducted by the Patton-Crosswhite V.F.W. Post 6975. The family will receive friends from 6-7:45 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service at Garrett Funeral Home.
