Cowan CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Dr. Walter O. Cowan, 43, 2827 Trelawny Drive, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at Gateway Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1959, in Richmond, a son of Walter O. Cowan Sr. and Bettye Mathes Cowan. He was a dentist. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Bridget R. Fletcher Cowan, Clarksville; father and stepmother,Walter O. (Jan A.) Cowan Sr., Richmond; mother, Bettye Mathes Cowan, Richmond; brothers, Matthew Bazner, Detroit, Warren O. Cowan, Richmond, and Roy Cowan, Richmond; sister, Katherine Lynn Jackson, Richmond; and uncle, Richard Cowan, Bristol Virginia. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2003, at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church with The Revs. Joe Fletcher Sr. and Ralph Johnson officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation (Clarksville) will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the church (Bristol) and 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at Robinson Mortuary. Rev. Dr. W.A. Johnson, Rev. Ralph Johnson and Rev. Joe Fletcher Sr. will conduct the committal service. The cortege will leave Robinson Mortuary at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, for the interment.
