Dew Dies At Local Hospital" "Brief Illness Fatal Yesterday to Well Known Local Business Man" Judson C. Dew, 65, of 506 English Street, well known Bristol business man, died at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at King's Mountain Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Mr. Dew, a resident of Bristol for more than 40 years, was secretary- treasurer of the Barrow-Scott and Service Mills, and an active member of the First Presbyterian church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Lee Dew, and two sons, Gibson G. Dew of Bristol and Sergeant Samuel M. Dew of the U. S. Army, stationed at Fort McPherson, Ga. A third son, Barrow Dew, died several years ago. Other immediate survivors include three brothers, D. T. Dew of Curryville, Ga., H. J. Dew of Rome, Ga., and G. H. Dew of Americus, Ga., and two sisters Mrs. J A. Miller of Perryville, Ga. and Mrs. J. B. Everett of Rome, Ga. Body is at Blevins Funeral Home pending the completion of funeral arrangements. Additional Comments: "J. C. DEW FUNERAL TO BE HELD TODAY" (also from Bristol Herald Courier dated Saturday Morning, November 11, 1945) Funeral services for J. C. Dew, who died Friday in a local hospital, will be held at the First Presbyterian church at 2 o'clock this afternoon, in charge of Dr. Julian Lake, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Roy Respess, pastor of the Central Christian church. Burial will be in the Glenwood cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. T. Nutty, E. A. Treadway, J. D. Newland, Charles Hawkins, H. H. Worrell, Coy Smith, Frank Drugan, and Harry Spanger. Honorary pallbearers will be Garland Hagy, R. E. McClellan, O. M. Ely, John Vance, W. J. Arnold, Jake Henminger, Jack Wolford, Leslie Hagy, E. W. Crenshaw, Clyde Torbett, Frank Winston, W. H. Thomas, Dorsey Stuart, Elbert S. MClellan, A. E. Andersen, Guy Arnold, Frank Helms, Earl T. Robertson, Con McCormack, Carl McGhee, Dr. A. C. Riddle, Rex Cowan, Frank Thomas, J. R. Robinette, Paul Baker, John H. Parrott, Hugh Cross, C. C. Ciggers, J. B. Neel, Sr., Stewart Neel, and King Rogers. The body was removed yesterday from the Blevins Funeral Home to the residence at 506 English Street.
