He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Fields Lethcoe; and a son, Jim Ed Lethcoe. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Myrna Jean and Don Barr, Chilhowie; also a son-in-law, Ben Tugman, Winston-Salem, N.C.; three sisters: Faye McGlothlin, Algeria, Ohio; Lee Wade, Fredericksburg, Ohio; and Penny Singleton, Abingdon; one brother, Lester "Pete" Lethcoe, Abingdon; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday, March 30, 2003, at 3:30 p.m. at the graveside in the Baptist Cemetery, Glade Spring, with Pastor Benny Bowman officiating. Casketbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Chase Johner, McKinley Barr, Jared Riley, Glenn Tugman, Dan Tugman and Bobby Tripp. Honorary casketbearers will be Toddy Church and Coy Nunley.
