K. Lowry Jr. ABINGDON -- Robert Keller Lowry Jr. (R.K.), 92, of the Green Spring Community, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at his home. He was the eldest son of the late Robert Keller Lowry Sr. and the late Bessie Ritchie Lowry. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Charles David Lowry. He was a life-long resident of the Green Spring Community and a member of the Green Spring Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder for many years. He was a life-long farmer and a real estate broker for 50 years. He was a member of the Abingdon Masonic Lodge, No. 48, a charter member of the Green Spring Fire Department and a charter member of the Green Spring Boy Scouts. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Nancy Gray Lowry of the home; five children: a son, Robert Keller Lowry III (Bobby) and wife Anne; three daughters, Elean Lowry Hutton and husband Charles, Mary Jane Crosby and Susan E. Lowry, all of Abingdon; three grandsons, Charles W. Hutton Jr., Mark Lowry Hutton and Robert Keller Lowry IV; one granddaughter, Catherine Gray Bigham; one great-granddaughter, Sumer B. Lowry; several nieces and nephews; and one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Daphne Lowry. The family would like to thank Candy and Lee Fields, Tena Rhea and the Total Home Care/Hospice caregivers. Funeral services will be Friday, Nov. 29, 2002, at 11 a.m. at the Green Spring Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Larry Chapin and Dr. Jack Snider officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the Green Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery immediately following the funeral services. Pallbearers will be Jack Abel, Bucky Buchanan, Billy Bob Byars, John Kelly Clark, Ricky Hall, Blair Keller, Cliff McConnell and Tommy McConnell. Honorary pallbearers will be Aubrey Brown, Edwin Brown, the elders and deacons of the Green Spring Presbyterian Church and members of the Green Spring Volunteer Fire Department. The family will receive friends at the Campbell Funeral Home from 6 to 8 on Thursday evening. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Green Spring Cemetery Fund or Building Fund, 22007 Green Spring Church Road, Abingdon, VA 24211.
