Neese ABINGDON -- Josephine M. Neese, 77, a resident of 27379 Lee Highway, died Sunday, March 9, 2003, in Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center in Chula Vista, Calif. She was born in Clinchburg, Va., to the late Joseph P. and Lena Noblitt McPherson. She was a member of the Abingdon Chapter 182 Order of Eastern Star. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar L. Neese. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra (Sandy) and William Pineck of Chula Vista; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Ellwood (Woody) and Lynne Neese of Abingdon; a special sister-in-law, Helen McPherson of Bristol Virginia; two grandchildren, Jo Elaine and Mark; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2003, in the Campbell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Barnett and Rev. Harry Booher officiating. A service of memorial will also be conducted by the Abingdon Chapter 182 Order of Eastern Star. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Knollkreg Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Sam Neese, Bernard Neese, D.W. Edwards, A.J. Johnson, Nathan Graybeal and Jeff Widener. The family will receive friends at the Campbell Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be sent to a charity of choice or Josephine's favorite charity, the Alzheimer Foundation, P.O. Box 9693, Mobile, AL 36691.
