Orfield ABINGDON -- Mr. Steve Alexander Orfield, 65, passed away Monday, March 24, 2003, at the home of his sister, Mildred. Steve was employed by Columbus-McKinnon Corporation and had served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include three brothers, Eddie, Lewis and George Orfield, all of Abingdon; two sisters, Mildred Ferguson and Stella Blackwell, both of Abingdon; a special friend to Steve, Todd Alexander; eight nieces; and four nephews. The funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 27, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the graveside in Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. John W. Price officiating. Casketbearers will be Sonny Orfield, Wayne Ferguson, Earl Blackwell, Daniel Foster, Malcolm Snead and Jonathan Dickey. Honorary casketbearer is Virgil Ferguson.
