Mr. Thomas was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Glade Spring and was retired from Westinghouse. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samual Thomas and Lucy Thomas; and his brother, Freddie Thomas. Survivors include his wife, Claudine Sweat Thomas, and one son, Randall Earl Thomas, both of Glade Spring; one daughter, Rebecca Gayle and husband, Billy Pavlick of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one grandson, Randall Scott Thomas of Glade Spring; three brothers, Stewart Thomas of Marion, Jerry Thomas of Abingdon, and Larry Thomas of Glade Spring; sisters, Earnestine (Tennie) Thomas and Frances Thompson, both of Glade Spring, Anna Mae (Frog) Cardwell of Saltville and Wanda Harris of Saltville; a sister-in- law, Ollie Thomas of Glade Spring; and a special aunt, Lottie Holley of Glade Spring. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Farris Funeral Chapel. Rev. Geary Jonas, Rev. Robert Lanter and Rev. Jerry Anders will officiate. Interment will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Nathan Thomas, Steve Thomas, Ronald Thomas, Jeff Sweat, Frankie Gregory and Jesse Fore. The Mens Bible Class of the Church of God of Prophecy will form an honorary escort. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Farris Funeral Service.
