Thompson GLADE SPRING -- Mrs. Patricia "Patsy" Carol Ratcliff Thompson, 61, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at home. Patsy was born in Washington County and was a lifelong resident of Glade Spring. She was a former employee of Tultex Corp. in Chilhowie and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father, James Cloyd Ratcliff; two sisters, Connie Ratcliff and Shirley Ratcliff; and a grandson, Bradley Thompson. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Thompson; two sons, Randall Thompson of Glade Spring and Steve Thompson of Bristol Virginia; her mother, Mabel Ratcliffe of Emory; grandchildren, Leann Thompson and Chad Thompson; brothers Ronnie Ratcliffe of Abingdon, Jackie Ratcliffe of Emory and Jimmy Ratcliffe of Greenville, Va.; a sister, Debbie Ratcliff Jackson of Glade Spring; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, in Farris Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ralph Surber and Rev. Dean King officiating. Interment will follow in Baptist Cemetery in Glade Spring. Casketbearers will be Jimmy Miller, Eric Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Craig Jackson, Olin White and Joe Davis. Honorary casketbearers will be Larry Davis, Wayne Rust, Allen Oliver, Fred Hawthorne, Steve Cook and Seth Cook. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home or any time at their residence.
