Jenkins ABINGDON -- Mrs. Vida Blackburn Jenkins, 85, died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2002, at the Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Jenkins was former resident of Huntsville, Ala., and had lived her entire life there before moving to Abingdon in May of this year. She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip N. Jenkins; and sisters, Lola B. Sadler and Christine B. Page. She is survived by her daughter, Loretta Johnson Evans and husband Tom of Abingdon; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Cobb of Huntsville, Ala.; two grandsons, Steve Johnson of Bristol Virginia, and Frank Johnson of Pana, Ill.; four great-grandchildren, Paulena, Lexie, Zachory and Mollie; a niece, Norma Crowder of Montgomery, Ala.; and a nephew, Dr. Michael Sadler of Huntsville. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, Nov. 23, 2002, at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home and Memory Gardens in Huntsville with Dr. Michael Sadler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family asks that all flowers be sent to Valhalla Funeral Home and Memory Gardens.
