Walden Jr. ABINGDON -- Mr. Lewis Henry (Pee-Paw Jr.) Walden Jr. went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 15, 2003, due to a long illness. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was a Vietnam Army veteran. He was a retired employee of Eastman Chemical Company with 27 years of service. He is survived by his father, Lewis Henry Walden Sr. and his mother, Violet Walden of Abingdon; one daughter, Candy Fields and husband Lee Fields of Abingdon; one stepdaughter, Nancy Rowe of Bristol Virginia; two stepsons, Leslie Kestner of Blountville and Troy Kestner Jr. of Abingdon; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one sister, Yulanda Coe and husband Don Coe of Bristol Virginia; and two nieces, Anita Yarber of Abingdon and Carol Norris of Glade Spring; one nephew, Mark Coe of Abingdon; four great-nieces; one great-nephew; and one great-great-niece. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henry and Betty Glass of Meadowview; paternal grandparents, O.L. and Eliza Walden of Bristol Virginia and one uncle, Clyde Glass of Meadowview. Funeral services were at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Farris Funeral Chapel. Pastor Ronnie Blevins, Pastor Tommy Wilson and Rev. Don Tate will officiate. The family received friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A committal service will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at noon at Old Glade Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Highlands Veterans Honor Color Guard. Pallbearers will be Mark Coe, Lee Fields, Troy Kestner, Les Kestner, Alfred Glass, Frank Glass, Les Yarber, Lee Glass and Kyle Glass. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Trinity Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Highlands Ambulance Service or to any diabetes charity. The family would like to thank Wanda Newton and Highlands Ambulance Service.
