WILL OF WILLIAM BERRY, WASHINGTON COUNTY, VIRGINIA, 4th Day of January 1849. I desire that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my perishable property. 2. After the payment of my debts and funeral expenses, I give to my wife JANE BERRY my house and furniture and all the remainder of my perishable property except the two horses during her natural life. 3. I will and devise to my son NATHANIEL BERRY a small piece of land lying on the south side of my farm supposed to be about two acres of which said Nathaniel Berry has enclosed to him and his heirs forever by paying Six dollars to my grand daughter MARY HAMMOND. 4th. I will and devised to my son WILLIAM BERRY the part of my farm which I paid of for him supposed to be about one hundred acres lying on the north end of my farm to him and his heirs forever. 5th. I give to my wife JANE BERRY all the remainder of my farm and my three negroes, Patience, Louis and Julia during her natural life and at the death of my wife, I give my boy Louis to my three children NANCY BERRY, ELIZA BERRY, HUGH BERRY to them and their heirs forever. I also give to my three daughters ESTHER HAYDEN, NANCY BERRY AND ELIZA BERRY my girl Julia. I also give to my daughters Nancy and Eliza Berry each one horse. At the death of my wife Jane Berry, I will and devised to my son HUGH BERRY the south end of my farm upon which my houses stands to him and his heirs forever. And lastly I do hereby constitute Nathaniel Berry my executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other and former Wills or Testaments by me heretofore made.
