WASHINGTON COUNTY, VIRGINIA: WILL BOOK 6 Will of Thomas Jameson P. 360, proven March 24 1834 In the Name of God Amen. I Thomas Jamison of the county of Washington & State of Virginia being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind & memory blessed by Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, in manner and from following (that is to say). First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rachel Jamison all my property of every description during her natural life. I do also give and bequeath unto my grandson Thomas J. Davis and my two grand daughters, namely Patsey and Rachel Davis, each Thirty dollars. I also give and bequeath to my grandson William Hayton Thirty dollars and to my grandson Thomas J. Hayton Fifty dollars, and if my daughter Isabel P. Perry should have any more children, I give and bequeath to each of them Thirty dollars. I also give to Polly Riddle an orphan child who is now living with me, one bed and the furniture belonging to the same. The balance of my estate of every description, I wish to be sold and the money equally divided between my beloved daughters, Sally Davis & Isabel Perry & each of their children, And my beloved wife Rachel Jamison. I hereby appoint sole executrice of this my last Will & testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the 10th day of December in the year of our Lord 1833. Signed, sealed, published and declared by the afore named Thomas Jamison to be his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, who at his request and at his presence have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses to the same. The last Will and Testament of Thomas Jamison deceased was exhibited in court and proved by the oath of John Moffett and James Vance two of the subscribed witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded. And on the motion of Rachel Jamison the Executrice therein named who took the oath of an executrice prescribed by law and entered into and acknowledged her bond in the sum of Three thousand dollars with Solomon Perry and William Davis here securers conditioned as the law directs.
