I Moses White of the County of Washington Commonwealth of Virginia, being at present though weak of body yet of perfect mind and memory, and calling to mind the uncertainty of this life and that it is appointed for all men once to die and after death to come to Judgment, Do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following. Viz. First and principally I recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth from whence it was taken, to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors hereafter metioned and as for such wordly things as it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and bequeath as follows, Viz., Imp. I will that all my just debts and funeral charges be fully paid and satisfied. Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Susana the full use of all my estate real - personal and Slaves for to raise and support herself and my children during her widowhood, but in case that my said wife shall contract a second marriage then my will is that my said wife shall than have one third of all my personal estate Divided and laid off to her by my Executors, But in case no such second marriage shall be contracted than my will is that my wife shall hold and enjoy my whole estate Real personal and slaves during her natural life. Item. I will also that all my Children namely, Martha, William, Mary, Spencer, Moses, and Joseph, or any that may be born to me by my said wife by me begotten in my life time may be all and every of them equal sharers of all and every of good and chattles Land and tenaments except as before excepted at the time hereafter mentioned. Viz, Provided such second marriage shall be contracted as above that they my said children shall have their parts, as they shall arrive to the age of twenty one years or sooner if they or any of them shall contract marriage, but in case no such second marriage shall be contracted, than my Children may not demand any part thereof during my said wifes natural life. Provided should any of my said Children die before they shall arrive to age leaving no Lawful issue of their body their parts shall be divided equally among my remaining children. and lastly I do make constitute ordain and appoin my loving brother Joseph White and my trusty friend friend and brother in Law John McCullough executors to this my last Will and Testament revoking and making void all former Wills and Executors heretofore by me made rectifying and confirming this and this only as my last will and Testament and these my executors. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty eighth day of October one thousand seven hundred and ninety six. At a Court held for Washington County the 21st day of February 1797. This last Will and Testament of Moses White dec'd was proved by the oath of James Duffy, a witness thereto, and at a court held for the said county the 21st day of March 1797 It was further proved by the oath of John White a witness thereto and ordered to be Recorded. And on the motion of John McCullough and Joseph White the executors therein named who made oath thereto according to Law and together with Wm. Richardson and William Huston their securities entered into and acknowledged their bond in the sum of four hundred pounds conditioned as the Law directs, a Certificate is therefore granted them for the probate of the said Will in due form.
