On this 6th day of November fA.D. one thousand eight hundred and ____ Personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid, Thomas M. Bragg aged fifty nine years, a resident of Westmoreland County in the State of Virginia who being duly sworn according to law, declares, that he is the identical Thomas M. Bragg who was a private in the Company commanded by Captain George Glascock in the 111th Regiment of Va Militia commanded by Colonel Richd E. Parker in the war With Great Britain declared by theUnited States the 18th J??n 1812 that he entered the service in Mafs at Westmolreland CH Va on or about the 20th day of July A.D. One thousand Eight hundred fourteen for the term of Service indefinite and continued in actual service in said war of the term of about fifty five days and was honorably discharged at Falmouth Virginia on the 26th day of Septr A.D. One thousand Eight hundred & fourteen as will appear by the muster rolls of said company. That he received no written discharge. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the “act granting bounty land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the military service of the United States,” passed September 28th 1850. /s/ Thomas M. Bragg Sworn to and subscribed before me the day and year above written. And I hereby certify, that I believe the said Thomas M. Bragg to be the identical man who served as aforesaid, and that he is of the age above stated. /s/ C. H. Sanford J.P. (Back of page) State of Virginia County of Westmoreland, ss. I William Hutt, Clerk of the County Court, in and for the County and State above mentioned, do hereby certify, that Charles H. Sanford whose genuine signature appears above, is, and was at the time of signing the same a Justice of the Peace in and for the County and State aforesaid, duly commissioned and sworn; that all his official acts as such are entitled to full faith and credit; and that the aforesaid County Court, is a Court of Record, having general jurisdiction. Bragg Of Westmoreland County and State of Virginia do hereby irrevocably make, constitute and appoint Robt B. Bagby of My true and lawful Attorney for me and in my name, to demand and receive from the Department of the Interior of the United States, the Certificate or Warrant, to which I am entitled for my Military services, as mentioned in the foregoing declaration.
