Bragg – decd a private in the Company commanded by Capt George Glascock in the 111th Regiment of Virginia Militia Commanded by Col. Richard E. Parker in the war with Great Britain declared by the United State’s on the 18th of June 1812. That her said husband was enrolled at Westmoreland County on or about the ___ day of ___ 1814 for the term of ___ years, and continued in actual service for the term of ___ days and was honorably discharged near Fr??. on or about the 20th Sept 1814 without however receive of his discharge in writing. She further states that she was married to the Sd Thomas M Bragg in Richmond County on the 18th day of May 1813 by one Saml. Templeman a Baptist minister, and her name before her marriage was Margarett Bispham and that her said husband died at his residence in Westm. County on the 21st day of November 1851 and that she is now a widow, and she further states that there is no public record of her marriage known to her. She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining (back of page) the bounty land to which she may be entitled under the “act approved the 3d day of March 1855.” And hereby constitutes and appoints Joseph F. Harvey her true and lawfull attorney to receive the said land warrant. /s/ Margaret Bragg We Susan R. Parker and Mary A. Yeatman, residents of Westmoreland County & State of Virginia upon oaths declare that the foregoing declaration was Signed and acknowledged by Margaret Bragg in our presence and that we believe from the appearance & statements of the applicant that she is the identical person she represents herself to be, and that Thomas M. Bragg her former husband is dead & died at the place & time stated in the foregoing declaration, and that the said Margaret Bragg is still his widow /s/ Susan R. Parker /s/ Mary A. Yeatman The foregoing declaration, power of Attorney and affidavit was sworn to and Subscribed before me on the day & year above written. Parker & Mary A Yeatman certify that we have esamined the family Bible belonging to Thomas M. Bragg, and find he was born the 18th day of July 1791 and his wife who was Margaret Bispham was born the 18th day of November 1789 and married by the Revd Samuel Templeman, Minister of the Baptist church of Westmd County on the 13th day of May 1813--- Given from under One hand this 2nd day of April 1855 /s/ Susan R.
