VA Will of William Remy In the name of God Amen I William Remy aged sixty-five years oald or thereabout do make constitute and apoint this to be my Last will and testament in manner and form following I first give and bequeath my Soul into the hands of God who gave it to me hopeing and trusting to have pardon of all my sins .......of my Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and my body to be buryed in descent manner at the discretion of my executors hereafter named and for that estate that I have I give and bequeath in manner & form following. Item I give and bequeath to my son William Remey and Jacob Remy’s heirs & Asbery Remy and my daughters Mary Sanders & Catherine Wormath each of them one shilling sterling. Item I give and bequeath to my son John Remy my bed and furniture which was my Father’s and a cow and calf at the day of marriage. Item I give and bequeath to my son James Remy my bed and furniture which I now live on and a cow and calf at the day of marriage. Item I give and bequeath to my son Daniel Remy my stil? and all belonging to it and the bed and furniture which is called his and my six gallon pott and also I give my son Daniel my land and plantation all to him and his heirs lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to fall to my son James and his heirs if lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to fall to my son John and his heirs lawfully begotten and for want of such heirs to fall to the next heir in law. Item I give & bequeath unto my Dear wife Cathren Remy my land and plantation and all my moveable estate during her life if not marring again and I give my son James Remy a certain parcel of land lying next to John Baker during his life now I desire that all the rest of my estate shall be equally devided between my son James Remy and my son Daniel Remy after the debts and legacies are paid of also I leave my son Daniel of? full age now to see the true performance of this my last will and testament I make constitute and appoint my Dear wife Cathren Remy & my son Daniel Remy to being my Executors to see this my will truly performed and to pay unto Elizabeth Sanders out of my estate a cow & calf at her marriage day if demanded?? In witness hereof I hereunto sett my hand and afix my Seal this ninteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & thirty seven. At a court held for the said county the 30th day of May 1738..This last will and testament of William Remay deceased was presented into court by Catherine his relict and Executrix and Daniel Remy his son and Executor who being under seventeen years old could not take the oath of an Executor whereupon the said Catherine only made oath thereto and being proved by the oathes of William Rochestor Philis Rochestor and John Rochestor witnesses thereto is admitted to record and upon the motion of this said Executor and her performing what is usual in such cases certificate is granted her for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
