I WILLIAM BROWN of Parish of Washington and County of Westmoreland Planter being very infum? in Body, but of Perfect Mind and Memory do Make and Ordain this My Last Will and Testament x x x x x x of all. I give x x x x x x My Soul into the hands of God that give it and My body I recommend to the earth, and as touching Such Worldly estate Wherewith it hath pleased god to Bless Me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following Manner and form; Implemis,? I give my LAND unto My SON WILLIAM BROWN and to the Mail Heirs of his Body Lawfully begotten and for want Such heirs I give my Land unto my SON JOHN BROWN and to the Mail Heirs of his Body forever. Item I likewise give unto my SON WILLIAM, Joe, Young Coffee and Benn, also my young horse, great Chest, Item I give unto my SON JOHN, old Coffee, Dick and Aaron, my great trunk, also My Mare and cloth and Spoon Moulds. Also my new Case, Item I give unto My DAUGHTER MARY HORE or HARE, Tom, Willy and Will, Item I give unto my DAUGHTER JANE PRICE, James and George, Item I give unto my DAUGHTER ELIZABETH CRAIGHILL, Jude and her young child My best bed, Bolster Rug with two pair of Sheets, Bedding and cord, also an Iron griddle, also my new desk, Item I give unto My DAUGHTER MARGARET WILLIAMS Young Sarah & her Child, My Second best Bed with furniture as above Mentioned, also one cow and calf, Item I give unto my DAUGHTER HANNAH BUTLER Settees, Old Sarah also my next best Bed with Furniture as before Mentioned, one cow and Calf also a new bed tick now made in this house, also ten yards of Sheeting Linnen. Item I give my Sheep to be divided between my DAUGHTERS, JANE PRICE ELIZABETH CRAIGHILL, AND HANNAH BUTLER, and my said DAUGHTER ANNA to have my Old Desk, Item I give also to my WILLIAM My Copper Kettle, Item it is my desire that the Cotton, Linnen and Ware I have now by me be kept for the use of My people above Mentioned, Item My Other Estate not Mentioned here, my desire is to be Sold by My Executors hereafter Mentioned, and the Money arising from thence to be equally Divided between My above Mentioned Children Item the Money now in hand of Mr. Johnson and the Sterling Money due from the said Johnson? At a Court held for the said County the 30th day of October Ano D__ (1759) This last Will and Testament of William Brown Dec.d was presented into Court by William Brown his Son One of his Executors therein named and being proved by the Oath of Anthony Payton One of the witnesses thereto, is Ordered to be lodged for further proof.
