Test Tho: Sorrell DCCprd Record atz nono die Juny 1714 pr Eunum Clerum Additional Comments: NOTE: In 1713, we were under a different calendar that began in March, so this is written in 1714 by our calendar. This tells us that Thomas and Hester Wright Blundell had a son Thomas, and establishes that John Wright's second wife Anne Walker had a brother Thomas Walker. And John's daughter Susanna had a daughter Mary, but what was their last name? John's first wife was Susanna (we believe Williams, daughter of Rice Williams.*) Susanna possibly died by or earlier than the time of John's 1707 deed to his namesake grandson John Blundell, John Wright only having had daughters and a young son John. His new wife Anne Walker, in Nov 1708, released her dower right when John Wright sold land in Richmond County. At that time John Wright did not know that he would have two sons by Ann Walker: John and Thomas Wright. *xxv Junii 1691 Upon the petition of John Wright setting forth his desire to know the just bounds and quantity of a certain tract of land lyeing near Jordan bridge in Upper Machotiks of which he is now possessed and also that Rice Williams his father in law's thirds may be laid out and apportioned to his out of the lands by the Surveyor of this county, ordered that the County Surveyor divide the land. From page 26, of the Westmoreland Court Order Book 1690-1698, and page 39 of John Frederick Dorman's abstracted records of that same order book. In 1704 John Wright conveyed to Robt Carter, Esq. of Lancaster Co. 440 acres of land in Stafford Co, VA, Will Book Z, p 254, Stafford Co, VA. On p 253 Susanna (her mark) Wright waives her dower rights in this sale. I have been to Stafford Co where a list is posted that says the records are only available on microfilm at The Library of Virginia - and Sparacio. This may mean only the abstracts by Sparacio or it may mean a book. Will Book Z was formerly Will Book F. Stafford records on Wills started with Will Book 6 in 1924! I believe this to be John Wright, blacksmith, and first wife Susanna, and she died shortly thereafter. The other possibilities of Susanna's last name could be Sorrell, as there is definitely a tie to that family in this will, Walker, or Asbury, or something completely different.
