WILLIAMSBURG - Harriette Vaden Price, 90, a native of Williamsburg, died Dec. 
2, 2007. 
She was a member of Bruton Parish Episcopal Church. She graduated from 
Longwood College and served the American Red Cross during WWII. After, she 
taught Physical education for many years as well as being a longtime political 
activist and took great pride in being an Elector for Ronald Reagan. She and 
her husband also owned and operated a Motel in Long Boat Key, Fla., for a 
time. Mrs. Price was an avid supporter to local animal clinics and humane 
societies to show her love for animals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert W. and Bessie Spencer Vaden; 
her husband of 40 years, James H. Price Jr.; a brother, Herbert W. Vaden Jr.; 
and a sister, Mary V. Ware.
She is survived by her niece, Barbara Ware Shephard and husband, Winston, of 
Williamsburg; nephew, Taylor Ware and wife, Carol, of Mechanicsville, Va.; 
three great-nieces and one great-nephew; five great-great-nieces and nephews; 
sister-in-law, Lillian Eberle of Cincinnati, Ohio; stepson, James H. Price III 
of Richmond, Va., and stepdaughter, Lee Marshall Price of Fredericksburg, Va.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Dec. 5, at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church with 
interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. 
Memorial donations may be made to Heritage Humane Society, 430 Waller Mill 
Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
