Worley E. Akers
    FREDERICKSBURG -- Worley Eugene Akers, 71, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at
INOVA Alexandria Hospital. He was retired superintendent for various
commercial plumbing contractors.
     Survivors include his wife, Joyce A. Akers; sons, Danny Akers of
Tennessee, David Akers of Chesterfield, Ronnie Akers of Fredericksburg and
Randy Akers and his wife Heidi of Fredericksburg; sister, Stella Estep of
Norton; three grandchildren, Justin, Rebecca and Roxanne Akers; and his
mother-in-law, Ada Dotson of Abingdon.
     The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at
Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with a funeral at 8 p.m. Burial will
be in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Norton, on Friday. The family will receive
friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel with a
funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday at Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Coeburn, Va.
     Floral tributes may be sent to Sturgill Funeral Home, Coeburn. In lieu
of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Northern Virginia, 6565
Arlington Blvd., Suite 501, Falls Church, VA 22042.
