Carmody Horace R. "Buddy" Carmody, 78, who passed away suddenly Dec. 11, 2002, was cremated by Loomis Funeral Home in Orlando, Fla. Born in Bristol Virginia and raised in Big Stone Gap, Va., he divided his residency in recent years between his home in Morristown, Tenn., and Eustis, Fla. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mae Stone Carmody; three daughters, Suzanne Hedgecock, Sherry Eanes and Dee Dee Burchette. The memorial service will be held at Trinity Methodist Church on the corner of Wyndotte and First Street in Big Stone Gap, Va., Saturday, Jan. 18, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Ronnie Mutter will officiate.
