Dotson NORTON -- Ida Shortridge Dotson, 92, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in Jellico Memorial Hospital, Jellico, Ten.. A former resident of Norton, she had made her home in Jellico since 2000. She was a member of the First Church of God in Norton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Dotson; sisters Rachael Nebraska Salyers and Nona Sheppard; and a brother Grover Cleveland Shortridge. Surviving are three sons, Bill Herman Dotson of Indianapolis, Robert Verdon Dotson of Jellico and A.G. Dotson of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two daughters, Alice Joan Wells of Monroe, Va., and Peggy Jean Dotson of Jellico; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lois Belcher of Glade Spring, Maxine Brewer of Campton, Ky., and Lucille Vanweirengen of Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robert Kespelher officiating. Burial will follow in Gray Cemetery, Guest River Road, Norton.
