Ida S. Dotson

    NORTON -- Ida Shortridge Dotson, 92, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, in 
Jellico Memorial Hospital, Jellico, Ten.. A former resident of Norton, she had 
made her home in Jellico since 2000. She was a member of the First Church of 
God in Norton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Dotson; 
sisters Rachael Nebraska Salyers and Nona Sheppard; and a brother Grover 
Cleveland Shortridge.
    Surviving are three sons, Bill Herman Dotson of Indianapolis, Robert Verdon 
Dotson of Jellico and A.G. Dotson of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two daughters, Alice 
Joan Wells of Monroe, Va., and Peggy Jean Dotson of Jellico; nine grandchildren; 
11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lois Belcher of Glade Spring, Maxine 
Brewer of Campton, Ky., and Lucille Vanweirengen of Dayton, Ohio; and several 
nieces and nephews.
    The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday at Hagy & Fawbush 
Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday in 
the funeral home chapel with Pastor Robert Kespelher officiating. Burial will 
follow in Gray Cemetery, Guest River Road, Norton. Memorial contributions may 
be made to First Church of God, P.O. Box 857, Norton, VA 24273.
