She was a charter member of the Christian Church of God in Wise, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Gordon Freeman; a son, Curtis Freeman; a daughter, Effie Freeman; five grandchildren; and her parents, Bert and Clara (Graham) Bateman. Surviving: three daughters, Christine Starnes, Amherst, Ohio, Jeanette Cooke, Church Hill, Tenn., and Doris Wells, Wise; six sons, Joe Freeman, Corunna, Ind., Barney Freeman, Kansas, Ohio, Ruford Freeman and Paul Freeman, both of Lorain, Ohio, Ralph Freeman, Huron, Ohio, and Darrell Freeman, Vermillion, Ohio; 47 grandchildren; 94 great-grandchildren; 58 great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Bertha Youngblood and Maggie Kilgore, both of Wise; one brother, Moss Bateman, Myrtle Point, Ore.; and special friend, Debbie "Sparky" Spurlock. The family will receive freinds from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home in Norton. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Graveside committal services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Laurel Grove Cemetery.
