Herron BIG STONE GAP, Va. -- Mrs. Sheila Ayers Herron, 51, died on Sunday, March 30, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident. She was a lifelong resident of Big Stone Gap. Sheila was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church and a 1972 graduate of Powell Valley High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Mack Herron; her parents, Robert L. and Virgie Collins Ayers; and a sister, Mrs. Shirley Taylor, all of Big Stone Gap. Survivors include six sisters, one brother and their spouses: Patty and Jimmy Herron, Shelby Meade and a brother-in-law, Bob Taylor, all of Big Stone Gap; Ann and Louis Roig and Lois and Don Caudill, all of Bristol Virginia; Roberta and James Collins of Pennington Gap; Thelma and Danny Mabe of Stonega, Va.; and Hobert Collins of Cincinnati; also surviving are several special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Calling hours are from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap. Funeral services will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Don Caudill officiating. Committal services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Holding Funeral Home to go in procession.
