Mr. McReynolds was a bluegrass musician and was half of the bluegrass duo, Jim & Jesse, and a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1964. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. He was born in Coeburn,Va., on Feb. 13, 1927, to Claude Matthew and Savannah Robinette McReynolds, who preceded him in death. His wife, Arreta McCoy McReynolds; and a sister, Stella McReynolds, also preceded in death. Survivors include a daughter, Janeen McReynolds Allred, Gallatin; a brother, Jesse McReynolds, Gallatin; a half-sister, Virginia Greear, Dayton, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services and burial will be held Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at 2 p.m. at the Robinette Cemetery in the Carfax section of Coeburn with Rev. Bill Crawford officiating. Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday prior to graveside services.
